Since they only sell their products to dealerships, the information available for consumers is somewhat limited. To help you get to know this great product better, we decided to put together the ultimate buyers guide for purchasing a Rock Solid Cargo trailer. Read on as we go over all of the options available to you within Rock Solid’s stout enclosed cargo trailer product line.

Customization Options

From the wheels to the roof, customization options abound for Rock Solid Cargo’s enclosed trailers. Below we’ll highlight all the choices available to you with almost every component that makes up a Rock Solid trailer.

Window Options

Windows for your enclosed trailer come in several sizes and as either horizontal or vertical sliders. Rock Solid also offers an egress window option. Available sizes include:

Door Options

Doors are an incredibly important consideration for your trailer purchase. How you plan on utilizing the trailer will help you determine the appropriate dimensions for your entryways. Be sure to take into account any planned equipment, plumbing, electrical, fire safety, etc. that may need to be loaded or unloaded. There are many custom door configurations that can make your life a whole lot easier. Here we’ll cover all the options for the doors on your enclosed cargo trailer.

Basic Doors: factory-built doors or Elixir® Extrusions doors are available in the following sizes and can be added just about anywhere on the trailer:

Custom Doors: custom doors come in a variety of different sizes and options. Consider adding black frames to highlight doors and create a clean, sleek look. Based on your needs, you can also include smart design features like a double side door. Options appear below:

Fuel Doors: fuel door choice is somewhat limited with a 12″ x 12″ aluminum case with lock but color can be customized to match the trailer or give a desired look.

RV Doors: RV-type doors help provide a great seal from the elements, protecting against pest intrusion and the elements. These doors can be built in just about anywhere on the trailer a client desires. Black frame can also be added for a sleek look. RV doors come in the following sizes:

Doors With Windows: having a window in your door can be quite beneficial depending on your needs. Available sizes for doors with windows are:

Escape Doors: escape doors are popular with race teams and other vehicle enthusiasts. These doors only come in one size – 54” x 48”. For aesthetics, black frame can also be added to an escape door.

V-Nose Ramp Doors: having a ramp door in the V-nose really comes in handy in a variety of different applications. Being able to load and unload supplies or even recreational vehicles, these ramps come in several sizes and options:

You can increase the structural integrity of a trailer outfitted with a V-Nose ramp door with two additional packages:

Extra Heavy Duty – Double Tubing & 1/4″ Angle.

This adds 18” in additional height and does not come with pads. Rated to 4,500 pounds.

Super Duty – Double Tubing & 1/4″ Angle w/ Pads & Double Spring Assist.

This adds up to 24” in additional height and is rated to 6,000 pounds.

Generator Doors: Generator boxes are almost universal option choices on today’s food trailers and custom concessions trailers. Security, aesthetic appeal and trailer budget typically influence which of the following generator box doors will wind up on your custom Rock Solid trailer from Renown. These doors come in the following sizes all of which can have black framing added to increase aesthetics:

Baggage/Access Doors: simple and efficient means with which to stow gear in an easily-accessible place. The following sizes are available:

Vents/Air Conditioning/Heating Options

Options for climate control should be considered when the contents of your trailer are sensitive to temperature extremes. Several features can easily be added to a custom trailer to keep temperatures at desired levels including:

Dome Vents: dome vents can be powered (12V or 110V) or non powered. Maxair® Vent Covers in Shell White are also available.

Air Conditioning: wall-mounted units keep your trailer’s contents at just the right temperature. Please note, all air conditioning equipped trailers must also include a wire and brace. A/C setups available include:

Having roof access can be very beneficial for a variety of applications; everything from a contractor wanting to utilize the extra space to race fans at Daytona enjoying the race atop a custom trailer. Options for creating safe access to your custom trailer’s roof include:

Round Top: rounded tops help water, snow, and other debris more easily slide off the top of your trailer and also add a few extra inches of headroom. This option is available on all Rock Solid trailer widths: 5’, 6’, 7’, 8’, and 8.5’.

Exterior Metal and Trim Options

Increased trailer skin thickness eliminates “waves” and makes the trailer look much better. It also helps the trailer hold up to the elements longer. Options include:

Recessed Compartments: Protect your DC power source, spare tire and save space. You can either add a recessed battery compartment or a recessed tire compartment to your Rock Solid trailer.

Awning Options

Create instant shade wherever you tow your trailer. Rock Solid uses the Awnings 8500 Series which comes with all the hardware needed. The awnings come in sizes from 8’ to 25’. For 22’ – 25’ awnings, a center support is included. Race Flags and Rodeo Fabric are also available design considerations.

Jacks, Couplers, and Tongue Options

The humble workhorses of a successful trailer option, even these components come in a variety of options from Rock Solid.

Jack Options: quickly attach or drop your trailer wherever you happen to be, whether on concrete, sand, or offroad. Available options for jacks include:

Couplers: adjust the coupler on your perfect trailer to match the vehicle you are using to tow it. Options here include:

Pintle Hooks: a pintle hook is used in heavy duty towing situations. The pintle hook resembles a hook that can be closed around a ring, called a lunette, which is attached to the trailer. Rock Solid offers a Pintle Hook and Receiver for the tow vehicle.

Trailer Tongue Options

Did you know extending the tongue of your enclosed trailer makes it a lot easier to tow and back up? Rock Solid Cargo has several lengths to choose from but If you’re unsure which is best for you, talk to our trailer pros to go over the best course for your situation. Please note, for safety reasons there has to be upgrades to your SUV if that’s what you are using to tow the trailer.
